“Muslims for Life” Gives America the Gift of Life

Islam teaches terrorism. It’s a popular belief held in the west, even before 9/11. Acts of Islamophobia, burning and vandalizing of the mosques, Danish cartoons of Holy prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of God be upon him, represent such beliefs.

To make matters worse some Muslims seem to believe in an Islam, which represents a picture not too different. A careful study of Quran and Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, reveals the opposite of this long held belief against Islam and unfortunately sometimes within Islam. In such circumstances, the need for moderate Muslims becomes apparent, to raise voice and bring the views of true Islam to the forefronts.

The founder of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad denounced Jihad with sword, more than 100 years ago. He is believed to be the long-awaited Messiah and reformer sent to call people towards God, clarifying misconceptions and misunderstandings in all religions mainly Christianity and Islam. He warned Muslims to use their pen to defend Islam instead of sword, following the teachings of Quran. Sadly, his teachings were used by mainstream Muslims to teach prejudice against him and his followers.

Today marks the eleventh anniversary of 9/11. The harm, which took place, cannot be undone. But Ahmadiyya Muslim Community gives the gift of life by donating its blood under the campaign “Muslims for life.” This second annual blood drive honors the victims of 9/11 and reiterates the message that Islam teaches sanctity of life and holds it dear.

After the blood drive at Oriole Park at Camden yards on August 18, 2012 “Muslims for Life”, a blood drive was held at Baltimore City Hall on September 6 and 7 in collaboration with the Red Cross. Another blood drive is scheduled for tomorrow, September 12, at Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus at the Glass Pavilion inside Levering Hall, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the voice of Islam, which teaches moderation, not extremism. Join them if you wish you to support the moderate Muslims.
